Controlled crown rolls (CC rolls) having adjustable camber are used extensively for
bottom press rolls and bottom calender rolls. Earlier designs used two tapered roller
bearings with a spherical roller bearing. Recently, triple-ring bearings have been used
to simplify the surrounding structure and installation.
Two spherical roller bearings (or spherical roller bearing and cylindrical roller
bearing) are combined into one unit. Triple-ring bearings have three bearing rings
(Inner, intermediate, and outer rings).
